'multiple languages'- module in JavaScript

anyone experience in writing multiple language JavaScript application for the Internet. I can only use client-based code -- no PHP/MySQL , ASP etc....

I'm thinking in the following direction:
to store the different translations in extended arrays and pull them in the application based on a var.

good or bad idea?

The stored db would be too big.

You'd need to use a server side database at the very least, and connect to it through ADO ... which would mean an ie only app.

Failing that you will have to use server side languages.

I've written something to handle this clientside before in Mason.

negative -- only javascript, HTML, DHTML, etc... = client code + compatible with IE and Netscape.

my clients have no DB (SQL), etc.. -hosting capabilities

Yeah - just use a set of JS files as libraries with arrays for handling.
OR if size isn't an issue - an array of arrays in one file.
