    Directory, but not search

    Hi there.

What does it mean if your link is in the DMOZ directory but doesn't appear in a DMOZ search? Do I just need to wait for the search engine to update? It's been nearly two months now.

    Best regards.

two months? That doesn't make sense. DMOZ's search is run off a different index that is updated approximately bi-weekly. Once they also reverted to one that was a couple months old, but it shouldn't take 2 months from you to be found in their search results.

Did you search for your URL?

    Unhappy

Normally, search is updated weekly or thereabouts. But we've had various problems with search for some time now.

At the moment, search doesn't work at all. Try searching for anything at all, and you get "No results found". (For instance http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=shopping , http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=hotel , http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=spam ...)

    Regards, Hilde

Don't worry about dmoz search, no one searches dmoz anyways.

Hi Hilde. You know, my site was submited to the open directory a few moths ago and is not appearing on it, but when i try to resubmit, it says that it already IS on the directory... is this due to the same problem?
