How did this site get up there

    Observe this site:

    http://www.cool-freebies-online.com/

It has a PR of 2 and shows up just before my site on google when 'freebies' is searched for. We both have freebies in our title but my site is a 6. This site is also a redirection so how did it manage to pull it off. I don't think having keyword in the domain has quite that much weight.

    Aspen, whats your take?

    They cloak.

    Look at Google's Cache:

    http://216.239.51.100/search?q=cache...n&ie=UTF-8</a>

    You should report them.

Also they page thats ranked higher than you doesn't have a PR of 2 - the page after the redirection is the one with the PR of 2 - there is no way to see the PR for the actual page listed since it's a cloaked redirect.

If they are still there after next month, I will report them, as for now, don't want to make quick enemies, I think I will surpass them next month anyways.

they'd have no way to know who reported them... and I reported them last night anyways.

People who abuse the search engines like that need to be banned.

Probably an article on SP about it. Essentially giving normal surfers one page and giving SE robots another usually by looking at the user agent in a script. The cloaked page (to the robot) would probably be optimised for SEs.

Yah... Just look at Google's cache (what they served the search engines) and their actual page (what they serve us).
