    Debbie
To clarify, I'd like to see a quality book that basically covers...

"Now that you've read all of our SitePoint books on building a website, how do you actually deploy, maintain, and keep secure your baby?!"

Especially for those of use who feel a $5/month Shared Hosting Account with GoDaddy/HostGator/1&1 is NOT the way to go...

    Sincerely,

    Debbie

PAYPAL! or a book on multiple payment gateways...

It's so friggin' hard to find a good book on it... in fact I haven't found one. Everything I've seen has been way out of date... or useless..

especially IPN, and also best practices...

pdf would be fine... kindle would be better

Yeah, Paypal IPN is a PITA - and very poorly documented with no examples to be found anywhere... would be the good topic of an article here if not a book.

I've had an idea brewing in my head for a long time to write a "usability" book that deals with actual use-cases, conversion optimization, and overall site usefulness for a long time. I have a good concept for it, a good basis for the concept with real psychological research, and a good plan to write it...

I've also got some good real-world techniques I've been using that have afforded me up to 80% conversion rate on PPC traffic!!! This is an astounding figure that can be obtained by anyone with the right knowledge and tools, and I think a book is a good tool for sharing it (as it could profit me for giving away my techniques).

What I don't have is time to write a book! Do you guys have a basic outline or plan for book writing that simplifies it for prospective authors?
I've had a similar idea about writing a usability, accessibility and best practice book targeted at front-end developers brewing as well.

Also a course on this avaliable in the courses section would be tops!
    That would be very helpful.

A Sitepoint book (or even just a small pdf guide that changes as the API's do) would save a lot of time for a lot of developers who are building applications like this.
Agreed, a book for the social media APIs is very much needed.
