Promoting it on social networking sites, search engine optimization, adding content to the site, and link building by having links on other sites are all key steps to making your site more popular. This will help you get more search engine traffic.

You should make a unique site, create a trend and it should be suitable for any people despite of age, sex, profession and level.

The simple way: one step at a time. =)

Okay, that's not actually so simple. However, try to do too many things at once and you'll fail at them all.

Start out slow. All the little bits that people have recommended are good, but you have to put them in the right place.

First of all, content is king. Without substance there is no point of your site and it'll never grow (would you subscribe to a magazine that has a couple ads and a couple chunks article snippets from other articles?).

Once you've started building up a fair amount of regularly updated content, ensure that your website is well built. This kind of falls under SEO, but not the SEO that many people mention. The keys to real SEO (versus black hat SEO like link farms). The highlights are:
    - good content which is written for humans (not search engines)
    - semantic (meaningful) and well written HTML
(You can find tons of posts with much more in-depth information in the SEO information).

Once your site is starting to make some money, you may consider investing this money into paid advertising and marketing on relevant sites (no links and stuff, but real ads like on Sitepoint).

From there, it's just kind of rinse and repeat and you'll slowly grow if all goes well.
