anam, no problem! I like sharing my life with other people.

I really do take it for granted living here, I try to go on a trip around the cabot trial in the fall every year when the trees are changing color (it looks so beautiful!).

I live in a suburb type place, so I don't get to see the "real" country very much except when I'm at my cottage.

It smells soooo good down there. The air is so clean and fresh, I actually feel a lot better when I go down for a week or two, cleans out my lungs. No noise or people either, just the occasional tourist that for some reason thinks a drive way with "privite property" writen on a sign is a public road. But if you manage to stumble down there your welcome stay!

Anam, about the caviar - that particular kind is indeed caviar paste - tubed. It's the cheap kind that just costs a few dollars per tube, and it tastes very good. I never really liked "real" caviar, though. Caviar rocks!

ACK!!!! You had that much caviar on one piece of toast!!?? Last time I had caviar, i had the tiniest amount, maybe 1/10 tsp on a large cracker, and I almost threw up! I though I had just eaten an entire salt factory!

    Or is paste less strong?

Yeah, paste is ABSOLUTELY less strong. "Real" caviar almost rises from the cracker and hits you in the face with a frying pan.

    Smile

Justin, I think I'd be permanently at the cottage...leave the 'burbs behind. Of course there is the small matter of earning a living, right I can imagine how the place must rejuvenate you. I am afraid when I visit NS I may never go home again I really think that is more how people were meant to live. Should I stumble inadvertently down a private drive, I'll ask for you

Note to self: If trying caviar, use the paste!

OK, I will finally contribute to the original thread (photos!). I did find a couple of pix of our wee pond and waterfall in the backyard. Still being worked on but we've had record drought this year, not at all conducive to new plantings

    Pic 1

    Pic 2

Second note to self: Set fire to neighbor's decrepit fence

ok thought I should contribute to this little madness

you can check out all my pics at

    http://kyle.suncitydesign.com/pics

    1. The bee on a flower... actually the flower is bad, someone imported it here from the UK and its flourished and taken over (fish don't eat it but it strives where algae does) its called Lustrife.

    2. a picture off the coast of Bamfield - Not where I live, but one of the nicest places in BC - it was rainy that day

    3. A duck - I like this pic because I love ducks... this was taken by a pond in one of the towns on the outskirts of the city where I live.

    4. Geese - same pond - same novelty

    5. Ah I couldn't resist - so I'm not playing hockey or being a lumberjack, but I am doing some Marine Biology research! That picture was taken right after a dredge of the ocean bottom.

    6. Mountainscape surrounding my valley

    7. The same park in which the pond resides.

    8. Bamfield is home to millions of deserted shacks and cabins, I liked this one so I took a picture of it.

    Great pics Impulse.

I grew up with trees so maybe I'm prejudiced, but I think British Columbia is one of the most breath taking places on Earth!

I've got nothing of where I currently reside, but here's a selection taken a few weeks ago from somewhere I spent a while growing up.

Aaaargh, that pics given me so much troub!!

I'm rubbish with bird identification. There's a repeat in there (goose and swan.jpg). I thought that was a Canadian goose, but no, I'm informed it's a black swan. Ah well, have to do some renaming at some stage so I don't look such a fool

My "twitcher" ex-wife always referred to Canadian Geese (obviously never taught me how to identify them though!), but just for you, when I rename, it will proudly be "Canada_goose"!
