I signed up with TotalNic, I have a domain name that is hosted on their server...How do I transfer the domain name to a different server? I did it when I signed up with WestHost, but what should I E-Mail to TotalNic? Also, what E-Mail address do I send it to? Thanks!

How do I get a Web password? Also, do I have to wait until they update the WHOIS records?

i'm unsure about the "web password" and as with NWS you will have to wait until they update their NS servers and all the ZONE files worldwide are updated. these will typically happen before WHOIS is updated.

Send them an e-mail and ask them what you need to do.

Ahh Totalnic... I as well have been trying to change DNS there for a site. Sent two forms (they have them on the tools link), but nothing happened. Sent a trouble ticket, and they replied:

If you generate a contact password for (COCO-XXXXX), this will allow you to use the modify domain form to make the necessary changes.

I thought it was mail-from but for some reason I had a difficult time trying to figure out where those handles could be entered when registering a domain, and not sure I even remember if there was a choice between mail-from or password to change DNS, etc.

They are SLOW to reply... still haven't had the change completed and it has been over a week and 1/2. Grrrrrrrr.

Oh, one problem...When I try to enter my URLS to go to my site, it says Server Not Found...In the WHOIS records, it points to the server, Do I still have to wait for the DNS records to get updated?

yea matt. the zone records need to be updated and your ISP will have to update their DNS records as well. this could take hours, days, or weeks...

Thank you! I think they are going okay now, just waiting for my ISP to be updated.
