I use HTML-kit and have been for a year or so. I like the fact it's free, and that it edits many code based items. The colored code helps organize my code, and html-tidy being packed in with the software makes it easier to validate sites. I also enjoy the new batch-action plugins, makes it easier to change things in many diff. pages. Overall, it's a great piece of software.

Yhanks for that, i am about to take the big leap from DW4 that is from wysiwyg to code and get serious with a cms system.

I seem to spend more time learning new programs than using them and this one looks like it going to take some time to get use to.

One thing I like about HTML-Kit is that I didn't have to learn much to get started. I just use it as a text editor, take full advantage of the FTP and learn features as I go along.

Only thing is the version I'm using does not support chmod. The author was going to add that feature to the next release of HTML-Kit, but my understanding was that he was going to start charging for the program so I never investigated upgrading.

Yeah the next version is $35, cheap if it does what you want it to.

I use it but probably won't continue to upgrade if it costs.

    Thumbs up

I've been using it for some time and am impressed with the growth it's undergone. The attention to detail is evident, and the feature set has gotten solid. I think it's well worth the price.
