Which one do you like best?

I personally find BigBrother stupid...who wants to watch people in a house all day? Plus, I don't like how it is like a talk-show at the same time.

But I do like Survivor a lot

I agree...I think that the style Big Brother is presented in is really stupid. I think it'd be better if we watched them rather than had a round up of what happened in the last day or interviews with people or whatever they do (I've only seen 2 'episiods').

Survivor is really cool. I've seen almost all of those and I was sad when Jenna got voted off. I think Rich is next.

(I also agree with david lettermen that they're all staying in a hotel, and stuff...)

    That's all I've gotta say...

Survivor wins, hands down. I don't have much time for TV, being preoccupied with web design/webmaster work, but I am sure to catch every episode of Survivor just to see what's up. Big Brother was a lame attempt to play on all the excitement Survivor was getting, but they just went overboard with it. There's no reason for me to even want to work that show that into my schedule.

In my opinion, TV is usually a waste of your time. So I don't watch Survivor or Urban Challenge or Millionaire or Big Brother. Only the Simpsons.

My grandma says good things about Survivor though...

    BigBrother = stupid

Survivor = watch it twice. It's pretty cool.

Well, I have never seen either of those shows so I couldn't really say. I have heard a bit about them though...

Actually in America Big Brother could NEVER be so succesfull as in Europe. In the USA every ''bad'' word has to be filtered out although everybody uses bad words in real life all the time. In Germany they showed even people under the shower. UNCENSORED. But in Germany you can go far in matter unsencoring. In the Netherlands where it all started they at least NOT filtered the words. And now Big Brother is coming to Belgium.

I don't know 'survivor' but I know that recently our National Channel sold its program called 'De Mol' to over 30 stations around the world. It was a program where every week there was one candidate who had to leave. It was a big hit here and also in the other countries it was played. Is it this program?

Aw c'mon, get off yer high horse! TV is entertainment and is only a waste of someone's time if they don't find it entertaining...listening to music of playing computer games has no inherent value otherwise either.

Survivor is easily more interesting...is it a bit hypocritical because we know it's not totally realistic? Perhaps...but we all know what we're seeing: a bunch of people forced to live like animals for awhile trying to win a buttload of money...good T.V. if you ask me.

FYI: Rich is not going next, trust me on that way...I expect Susan will, perhaps Kelly...write that down!

BigBrother completely sucks in my opinion: it's boring, stupid and only interesting for braindead people... Maybe they could use it as an cure against Insomnia

Survivor is much, much better, at least something happens
I've watched all episodes of 'De Mol' and it's comparable on some points.

Is there anyone here who really likes Big Boring? I would love to hear why!

Something interesting to mention is that ABC has made some mistakes with the Survivor website, including one time when the HTML of the site told who the winner was going to be...

Survivor wins, paws down! Big Brother is terribly boring and too censored to be even remotely popular.

There is a resort 20 minutes from where the people are staying on that island, and the network itself came in awhile before the show actually began and planted all the food, fish, and island animals that the people see. Everything had to be transplanted because the island had been overfished and overfarmed.

I know Rich is next, but I sure wish they'd vote Gervase off. Every time you see him, he's not doing anything productive..

RE: network mistakes on Survivor - they actually had a shot during the opening credits where they revealed the last 4 members of the show. I can't remember who they all were, but I know that Gervase and Rudy were there.

Not quite...some guy known as "CAPLOCK" simply found that a certain directory contained 16 pictures...one for each survivor...15 of them had a red "x" over it (signifying their boot from the island), and one did not...this could have easily been a clerical error...especially when you consider that only a handful of people outside of the survivors themselves know who won...I find it hard to believe a low level web worker uploading images into a directory would know about the winner.

What I really hate is that this "CAPLOCK" guy is being called a "hacker" simply for looking at the HTML source and typing in an image path and looking around a bit...I'm glad he found it (he even ended up on Good Morning America, which I thought was cool), but let's face it: they're only using the term hacker because most people incorrectly think of computer literate people that way.

Survior is better because it has situations and things have they to do on an exotic island versus BigBrother where it's in a boring house.

I don't know if anyone watches The Late Late Show With Craig Kilbourn, but there was a very funny segment on Friday's night show making fun of how boring BigBrother is.

Like some of the others, I rarely watch TV. I'm usally on-line or doing something else that I'm not home for. (Yes, I'm invloved inother activities, non computer related) So I just don't have time for TV usually and think that it wastes my little time. Sometimes I do watch movies and stuff and occasionally Survivor, but not every time it's on...

Could it be that Survivor is something like 'Die Insel' which is on a german channel I watched in Spain

It was on an exotic island where the candidates had to live from food they found on the island, etc. Every week one person left and is replaced by another person. Is it that?

    Christophe

ps: ELLEDAN: how come you have seen 'De Mol'? Do you live in Belgium or The Netherlands? Because it had another name in other countries.

Have you noticed that in survivor all the women have managed to shave their armpits (my sister notices.) Makes you wonder if something else is happening behind the scenes.
