Search Domains

I read somewhere a while ago that you could use altavista to search within a particular domain, you would type something like
www.sitepoint.com:searchterm

does any one know what it is ?

It's like this:


search terms host:www.domain.com

You can also use a wilecard, like host:*.domain.com
