    is "Copyright 2002" enough?

Does anyone know if simply putting "Copyright Mycompany 2002" on each page of a site is enough to legally protect your site's content (images, logo, etc.) from duplication? When is obtaining a trademark necessary? Also, does the year need to be constantly updated like "2000-2002" in the copyright message? What is the purpose of that updating? Thank you!

    Well...

... copyright statements are only for the looks and have no legal value. Who am I or you or anyone to "announce" something as legal.

Material posted on the net might also be automatically coprighted but that is another "law" like that one that prohibits putting a few songs from your CD on tape or another CD... it is illegal but 1) noone cares and 2) the means to find justice are very vague and not helpful.
