Unbelievable Marketing Technique - "Amazing Guarantee" - My Challenge

Does anyone still believe this line ????? The bulldust "No risk fully guaranteed close."

"Place your order right now! You are protected by a 365 day guarantee of complete satisfaction. One Year Money Back Guarantee! If for any reason you are not completely satisfied I will happily refund your money. I promise! ".

Here is the challenge to this bulls**t type claim.

You give me your product to trial for "365 days" no charge. If after that I keep it. I will pay double the asking price.

There is a true test that you are prepared to stand behind your product.

    I'm betting I won't get many takers....

    Regards

    Micmol

Even if 100% of the customers purchased the product in the second year, the company might not have been able to do without the revenue for the first year.

I agree with you that it's a bit of a marketting ploy... a similar ploy to the mail in rebate... sounds good initially but many people are too lazy or busy to get the process going. Once you do send back the product any number of things can go wrong. Did you mail it correctly? Is it in proper condition? Did you include all the correct paperwork? Are they simply going to stall or try not to give you your money back for no good reason?

That said, I've had a number of good experiences with money back garautees. One good experience was with footprints ( http://www.footprints.com/ ) and their six month test walk. I bought a new style of Birkenstock and the way I walk ripped them up over five months.... they took them back with no trouble.

Anyway, I'm rambling, so enough typing .

p.s. I am not affiliated with footprints in any way except as a past customer.

I offer a garuntee on my site that says

"if you are not completely happy, i will give you a complete refund and an additional $30 no questions asked"

I can say this becuase i am very confident with my service and also that i have NEVER had a request for a refund.

This has worked well for as in terms of building trust.

I wouldnt go as far as the "365" offer though!

    Arrow I don't offer it......

Since I don't offer such (at most times foolish) guarantee's, I am not eligibale to accept your challenge ; )

But yes, it's a nice approach to those giving you the already marvellous 'no questions asked refund' offers !

    NO TAKERS YET

    Dear All

No takers yet. Now why does that surprise me !!!

My point was more the "shallowness" of these type offers.

In any selling process creditablity and honesty is a very vital tool to close the sale. Any site with this offer IMHO losses that "creditablity and honesty".

Don't offer something that you won't or can't deliver.

    Kind Regards

    Micmol

I think many legit buisnesses can deliver on that sort of promise. It's a good bet to hedge... in 11 months the customer is likely to have:

    1. Become used to your product
    2. Lost the receipt
    3. No longer care

...most the time I'd bet one of those would keep customers from returning the product. In that sense, it is a sound marketting technique that will not cost the buisness too much and does not require dishonesty.

"Don't offer something that you won't or can't deliver."

    That I agree on.
Funnily, 50-90% of all sites with these kind of offers you see, won't exist in the 13th month, so well it's not a good deal for them ; )

So it should not surprise you ; )

Well jokes apart, I agree with you that it's really sick to read such kind of stuff.
For me, it's bad for my business because those guys can 'lie' and steal business away from me.

But hey, micmol, why are you so persistent here ?
Do you mean to point at any of our member's offers ???

If not, then why are you presuming half the online world that sells come & read your message ???
You should try & write a direct email to them.

    Tell you what.
    1 in 10 will accept & you'll be a happy (and free or almost non-paid) customer ; )
