It can be very effective, or it can be a royal pain in the pocketbook. It really depends on the situation.

Partnerships is area ive often looked into. In pirticular I want to add the latest movie at the cinema with a review from a reuptable magazien such as Empire Magazine, I inted to contact them in the near future.

What uses have you come up with so far?

Its difficult coming up with something that really does make sense, like Supermarkets and petrol stations are often partnerships and do go well together.

It depends on what kind of partnering you're talking about.

I've had tremendous success partnering with another site. I would make content for them and they would send me subscribers.

Thats a hard question to answer, it depends on who you partner with.

I have just got a Partnerhip with Findwhat.com they aproached me so i cannot really say how to approach someone, but i think it will be particularly good because i can give each new customer a free Findwhat bidding account with $5 in it.

This is completely free for me and it adds a lot of value to my service (in terms of more customers)

Also it improves my reputability becuase i am being associated with a very large company.

I will report back with the results!

Same here. The partnering I'm thinking about has been one of the best things I've done for my site. Aside from Google, my partner sites give me most of my traffic. I have developed quite a few content sharing relationships over the years and in fact, many of my columns are partnerships. Developing partnerships with sites that have audiences who will be interested in your site can be a golden opportunity to expose your brand to a whole new viewership.

My site shot off when I started doing content-sharing partnerships. I even wrote about it when I was doing this in that famous Community Tips thread in the Promotion & Marketing forum.
