What is going on here? NS6.2 issue

Here's an example of the problem:

    http://www.rpgme.com/cssdev/selectvalue.htm

If you visit the page with IE6.0, the javascript alerts will show you three values (look at the source to know what they mean--it's easy!). Now, change the option selected in the select box and then hit refresh. If you say, select "Option Two" the values that show will all be equal to "2". Yep, that's what we want.

Now, do the same in NS6.2. You'll notice that after you change the selected value in the select box and hit refresh the values are reported "1", "2", "2". If you looked at the source, you'll quickly be as confused as I am. What is going on here and how can I fix it?

I need this for a complex page I'm developing and I'm at a stand still.

I get the same result with your code. I even tried removing the alerts and placing the values in a text box and get the same result. I did though place an onChange event in the select tag to perform the function and that does display the correct values. Must be a bug with NS6. Good luck.
