I saw this site with it's great rollovers and graphics and wanted to know.... How did they do it? Is it Flash? How did they get the background and the graphics looking so neat and sharp?

And more importantly, HOW CAN I DO IT MYSELF??? I have all the packages but need a bit of a kickstart. please help!!!!
    Heres the site- http://www.tomhingley.co.uk/
    Thanks,

    Paula

The rollovers are done with animated gifs.

    Here's one of them.

The page background is this and the gradient background is achieved by setting this image as the background for the table.

Quite simple really, but the design falls apart if you view it in a window any bigger than 800x600 as the page background tiles.

The sharpness of the images comes from the fact that they are gifs rather than jpgs. As a rule, you should only use jpgs for photographic images, as is done here with the picture of the guy's face.

    yeah animated gifs.

Its easy to tell just press the right mouse and it will usually give you the information.

if it gives you the chance to save the picture as then its either a gif or a jpg.

if its flash or shockwave then it will give you a menu. A big menu and its generally flash and a small one generally means shockwave.

This definetly doesn't belong in Advanced Design, so I'm moving it.

Furthermore, a good tutorial on how to do image flips can be found here:
