In most countries world-wide, copyright is automatic. All you have to do is publish your website and it is copyrighted. If you wish to have a registered copyright you should contact the copyright office in your country. They usually have forms to fill out, require a copy of your work and a registration fee. Once you fulfill that your work is registered and you have a government agency verifying the creation date for you in copyright issues ever come up.

The poorman's copyright (definately works in the U.S. but not necessarily elsewhere), requires that you mail the work to yourself. Take the sealed package and store it safely. Do not open the package except in front of a judge and jury during a copyright case. The postmark on the package will serve as the verifying date from a government agency.
