trying to make an interesting and new effect and need help

ok im not sure what you want to call it...but do you people remember that old screensaver maybe windows 3.1 of the black background and the little lines that were suppose to be stars?

well i want to create that effect. how do i do it, can someone start me off or is there an existing tutorial available.

Well, you'll need a script that will generate a continous stream of 'stars', place them in semi-random positions and will resize and move them at differing rates.

cool i got it now, but im changing the background to white and the stars to red or blue for my version of the effect
