    Gimp plug-ins

On the advice of some in this forum I've downloaded the Gimp and started playing around to see if I can use it for my simple editing needs. It looks promising but does anyone know the procedure for installing a plugin under windows. I downloaded the 'Mosaic' plugin and it is a .txt file on my desktop. I did the obvious thing and copied it to the plugins folder in the Gimp directory, then restarted the Gimp. When open an image file and drill down through the menus to the 'Mosaic' item it is greyed-out. So, I'm assuming it's not installed.
    Anyone know about this?

Not sure about how this functions in GIMP - but I guess you should make sure the image is selected properly, and it also probably requires the image to be rasterized and not vector (again not sure about GIMP). Sorry if this is no help to you.

If its in the menu, then its installed. If its greyed out, then its unavailable to you at the time (eg- you've havn't made a selection, too many colours, doesn't support layers). I'm not sure if those apply to gimp, as I've never used it, but they are pretty generic properties

It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.
