This used to be a web shop and I changed it to an ID guide when I closed the business two years ago. My plan is to move to Linux hosting and install some directory software instead of having the ID guide (the current asp pages).
I've tried googling to get answers to my questions and found this old post on this forum which seems like it is one way I could do it or would the old pages still need to be on the new server as well for this to work? Apologies if I am being a bit thick!!
The other question I have is, is it possible to create a basic html page and name it like the old asp page?
It may not be a best practice, but yes, you could just write straight HTML pages and save them with filenames "about.asp", "home.asp" etc and they will display fine in browsers. It wouldn't be the worst thing to do while you rebuild your new website (and that way any backlinks you have out there would continue to work).
