Yes, many people do make "good" money off of Amazon, but they are far and few between. I myself never started to recieve good income, mainly because I never really promoted their links. There are a few people in these forums who still make money with Amazon. I believe Aspen is one of them, try PMing him with a question.

Yes, I make plenty. Its not buying me cars, but it roughly pays my rent.

Alot of what I make is thanks to my coupon site, but even before that I made good with Amazon via my wilderness survival site. I talk about it in my affiliate program article linked to in my signature.

The link can be found at the bottom of the main page. I'm not sure, but you may have to be an Amazon.com member already (its free unless you buy something ). The amount of money I made when I was an affiliate was very small (~$5), but that's because I really wasn't promoting it right, like in Aspen's case.

You are right by doing the right promotion you can make some money from amazon and surely you also need to have
good number of user hits. also the banner should be related
    to the site.

I was affiliated with Amazon when I had my old web site. I was promoting certain computer games and for the short two-three months I had the links up, I earned about $50.

My web site was receiving about 10,000 visitors daily, and many of them wanted the game. It depends on who comes to your site I guess and what they are looking for.

Does anyone know of a good script to manage Amazon products and automatically adds the product information to your website?

This one sounds good but there is no demo and you need to buy it before you can even try it out.

    http://totalscripts.com/cgi-bin/scri...=9512901_11207

I am sure that I could make more money out of Amazon if it was simpler to update the products.

Amazon isn't a great money earner for me... but even with my small site (about 1000 pageviews/day) i get about $50-$100 per quarter.... not bad really for having a few links.
Having amazon text links incorporated into your content is also a good idea

I know that there are some free ones at www.hotscripts.com , I've heard that some aren't half bad.

Yea, that's where I found this one. Most of them just work on search terms which means that you don't earn as much commision.

Not out of the question... if you know a bit of XML amazon shows you how you can get *any* (inlucing prod info, sales rank etc....)information about a product and put it on your page.

go to http://associates.amazon.com/ to find out more.

    But the question is:
Will it be worth your time doing all this scripting only to get around $100 a quarter? I know i wouldn't

I just found this concerning XML http://associates.amazon.com/exec/pa...355004-2300832
So will go through the forums to see if anyone is offering any nice scripts already setup as I don't have the time or knowledge to do it myself.

Good point. I would have to say no, if you're not skilled enough to do this in a few hours, don't bother. But what skilled programmer resells Amazon anyways?

Is it true with amazon that if you provide a link to a product, if they dont buy straight from that link you loose the affiliate pay??

So like a user clicks a link to a book on boating, goes and looks at the Lord of the rings, then eventually buys the boating book, ya dont get paid?? Or if they buy the Lord of the rings you dont get anything, as you didnt send them to that book???

Just wondered, i was thinking of setting up a books, videos, dvds, section on my new business site, so do you think its worth it?? I suppose it wont do no harm using that script that tommatthews found ?

If they buy from a direct link you get 15% commision but if they buy from a search or they find something while browsing amazon after coming from your site you only get 5%.

hotnuts21... you even get paid 5% if some goes to amazon from your link... doesn't buy anything..... then goes back to amazon (on his/her own) 20 days later and buys something
I've got commissions for all sorts of things that i didn't specifically link to !!

    Ok Thanks Guys.
    Tom,
That php script you gave us will only work with the US Amazon, does anyone know if there is a similar one for the UK amazon?? Or can it be fiddled to work the uk amazon.

As for your demo site, the yachting site. Is it a real live site? If so you might want to put a link to my site in the beep pager link in my sig. I will give a link back to you too, if you pm with the details.

    Paul M,
Thanks, I think this is what I was thinking off
    ?
We will not, however, pay referral fees on any Products that are added to a customer's Shopping Basket or are purchased via our 1-ClickSM feature after the customer has re-entered our site (other than through a special link from your site), even if the customer previously followed a link from your site to our site.
By the way what does the M stand For?? Do you use .com or .co.uk and do you know if there is any script for the .co.uk prog
