go back link active in another frame

I have two frames.. one gets refreshed every 30 seconds (status window which shows user actions).. the other frame is the main one where the user navigates through the site.. the problem is if the user clicks on "Back" (javascript history go back) it will go back in the status window not in the main window.. what to do?

Using a JavaScript back means the browser will go back to whichever state it previously had. I can't get my head round how you say your site's working without seeing it, but that's your problem. Can't you just use a relative link rather than a JS back? A JS back is rather the lazy way of doing things (he says, being a master of such laziness himself! )
