Contact form data into XML data

Ok, here is the scenario....

Client of mine wants to hold a 'sweepstakes' for some products they sell. Entrants will register via an online form with their contact information etc.

The client wants the data to go into maybe an xml file or something.

Can anyone point me towards a good solution?

I would say that once you get the data into a database (mysql?) you can output it any way the client needs.

Well my next question would be is what script would be best in accomplishing this?

I don't really know a script, but it can be written a simple script to do that.
