    help with stats

Can someone please help me interpret the following stats from Analog? I want to know what the figures in brackets mean and what my average daily and montly page views are:

(Figures in parentheses refer to the 7-day period ending Jul 31 2002 at 11:16 AM).
    Successful requests: 5,037,244 (304,037)
Average successful requests per day: 160,549 (43,433)
Successful requests for pages: 80,696 (4,159)
Average successful requests for pages per day: 2,571 (594)
    Failed requests: 49,968 (0)
    Redirected requests: 40,511 (594)
    Distinct files requested: 11,871 (498)
    Distinct hosts served: 2,359 (292)
Data transferred: 14.809 gigabytes (633.465 megabytes)
Average data transferred per day: 483.358 megabytes (90.495 megabytes) )

This is the first month after launch...

For example...am I getting 2571 page requests per day or 594? Or is the figure in parentheses the average number of page views during the last week? If that is the case why is it so much smaller than the number not in parentheses?

    Confused

I was wondering about this too, I really don't get it, but i think the one in the brackets is the real one.

Dont hold me to this but i think the numbers in the brackets are the number of unique reguests.

(thats why they are a lot less)

Analog has a good description of the terms at http://www.analog.cx/docs/reports.html They do say that the number in parentheses is for the 7 days specified, and it's a total, not an average. The only reference to the first number is "total", so I'm assuming it means total since the site began or since analog was installed, and not a monthly total. I've seen references that it's supposed to be a monthly total, but for some reason, my stats don't reflect that.

When reviewing my analog history over the last 5 months, it appears that the first number is a cumulative total since the site began on this server. The number increases by about 60 gigs each month.
