    How to prevent http redirect?

How do I prevent a webpage from automatically redirecting to a different URL? Many pages automatically redirect you to a local site for whatever country you are in, for example, and often this is not what you want. I thought I was a somewhat knowledgeable webmonkey but I don't know how to stop this. How do I get to the URL that I type into the address bar without being redirected to a different URL? Anybody know?

Use "Private Browsing" option in your browser.

I tried that with the IE8 private browsing feature with Paypal.com. Didn't work. It still redirects to the local site. It tried clearing all the PayPal domain cookies but that didn't help either.

It does work for some sites (Dell), PayPal is probably reading your IP address.
Going through a proxy may help.
Other options: block image loading, block Referer headers (Fx)

Paypal is terrible! Since I'm in the Netherlands it sends me to their Dutch page... if you have a problem, you try to contact via the "contact" button... which sends you to "Help"... which doesn't exist (it says in English "this page does not exist in English" or something similar. Nice job guys! I can tell you do a lot of user testing!
