    Hi
Does anyone know where to advertise a Web Design company. I mean like advertising that will get me contracts. I know there are many web design companies out there, but there is alot of web site and company development goingon out there so i think this field is not bad.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas for me to get my site up there so i get contracts and alot of traffic would be nice, pelase let me know.

    Thanks for your time.

There IS a lot of competition in the market.

You're best bet is to probably try and target local business's rather than some sort of online bidding place.

Go through all of the business's in your local area, or as far out ss you can get to and start checking for web presences.

Then draft letters, send them out, follow up with calls etc.

Speaking from experience, the newspaper is probably better than on TV.

Some freelancer sites (elance.com, scriptlance.com, ...) show up web design requests, but usually the pricing is ridiculous.

Depending on where you live, talk to the local Chamber of Commerce & do a lot of networking. Worked for me...

Finally, give yourself a profile. "Web Design" is a typical me-too service & it's hardly to differentiate yourself from other web design shops.

Try the following offline marketing ideas:

    1. Direct mail - I've found postcards to be a cost-effective way to promote my biz.

    2. Present talks to business and professional groups. Great way to get your name out there. And, if you're really GOOD at it, you can make speaking into a profit center in its own right.

    3. Join business and professional groups, and volunteer to do things for those groups. Serve on the board, raise funds, find speakers for meetings, that sort of thing.

    Hope this helps,

I used to be in the web design business and I found the best way is to get fresh leads, a good source is buyerzone.com, they run $7.00 per lead. I got one contract after reponding to 12-15 leads.
