How to Prevent exe files downloading using apache

Hi guys i am new to this forum and learning apache web http server and installed it. have got an idea about htdocs folder but if you place exe files in htdocs folder it can be downloaded by any user.

Please tell me how to prevent downloading by every one ? please friends

Welcome to SitePoint's Apache forum.

Move the .exe files outside your webspace OR password protect the directory that you have them in. Obviously, you can't very well do that to your DocumentRoot so the htdocs directory is not the place for .exe files.
