Online service to convert Excel files

Hi guys,

Does anybody know of an online service that can convert Excel files into a standard format.

I’m working on an application written in PHP and hosted on linux and I want to add functionality that allows the user to upload excel files and extract the data into the system.

I’m aware that there are php classes available that allow me to do this and this is most probably the route I will have to take but I’m interested to see if there are any solutions out there that do this for you.

There are so many free tools to convert excel files into a standard format you just need to search on Google “free tools to convert excel files”.

I think that the easiest way is to use a class, there’s loads of them about…Does sound lazy but we don’t reinvent the brick every time we want to build a house…
