    Question small color picker app?

I'm looking for a small app/program/browser add-on that is a rgb/hex color picker that works like Adobe Illustrator's color picker - you put in the color, it shows it and all of the colors around it, also allowing you to increase/decrease brightness, hue etc, and showing the rgb and hex values of that color.

I find I often need to open Illustrator when I'm looking for hover colors and the like, because the color picker works so well when I need a slightly lighter or darker color.

Does anyone have anything they can recommend? Opening Illustrator or Photoshop just to use the color picker is a pain in the you-know-what.

    Thanks!

For Mac, you can use the native Color Palette (see this post for a little app you can install to use it as stand-alone app):

For PC, I have used for many years:

I tried many until I found Pixeur which has a very small footprint and is patently easy to use.

    .
I just tried this one. Small and compact with no fluff. Great share.

I've also used ColorImpact, ColorSchemerStudio, ColorZilla as well as SmartColor.
All of them have pluses and minuses but all are usable as well. Just personal preference and free vs. pay.

This isn't exactly what you've described, but it's close. I use it all the time.

The best color scheming program you can buy: http://www.colorschemer.com/

I've been using it for years and I've no intention of using anything else in it's place.
