Does membership make new leads?

Is anyone over there is member with a kind of professional association or chamber of commerce? Does it lead to new clients, order or business relationships?

yes, but you really need to attend the events and personally netowrk like crazy. build those relationships and people will recommend you....

I know people that swear by this, but only local stuff. Internet related clubs or memberships are not the same. When you can talk face to face with someone its much better!

I haven't heard of any online networking groups that provide the same effect. Perhaps you can try small targeted industry based mailing lists / egroups and forums. They can lead to new contacts.
