.POT downloading as a PPT file? most Bizarre thing ever

I have a .POT file posted to my Windows / IIS6 server.

When I click the link in my browser it downloads as a .PPT file, it even changes the extension of the file to be PPT.

This is the weirdest thing I've ever seen.

So my question is, could this be a MIME TYPE problem? What is the MIME-TYPE for POT files?

This seems to be an issue with IE. I tested this in Firefox and Chrome both of those browsers download the .POT file as a .POT file.

It's only IE that is changing the extension. How weird is that?

Anyone have ideas to make it work in IE?
