FREE! jQuery: From Novice To Ninja

It's pretty rare you'll ever see us give away one of our most popular books, but that is exactly what is happening right now.

At this very moment, we are giving away digital copies of jQuery: Novice to Ninja! It's all part of our "This Cup" promotion which you can learn about here:

    http://sale.sitepoint.com

Enter your email address and we'll send you a link to download your copy.

This is only available for a few more hours, so grab it while you can.

I believe the term for that kind of event is being Twitterpated (as from the movie Bambi meaning feeling the love)!

It is easy to say thanks for the free book and all of that.. but what is lost is that is a bloody fantastic book. I shudder at the thought of Java Script. I opened this book and within 5 minutes I had my first Zebra striped table... 2 minutes later, I re-wrote the JS - without looking!

(Watch out! Java Script forum is going to get flooded with newbie questions...)

Thanks.. for the great book, and for making it available for free!

Tweeted a link to SitePoint for their generous offer. Sincere thanks to SitePoint for this.

I hope SitePoint gets some business from this (drug dealer model, LOL) promotion. I mentioned in the blog post on this topic that I would have purchased this and the other discounted book a couple days ago, if I had a chance to understand more about exactly what's in it - like leaving through pages at the bookstore. I still won't know if the book is actually "good" for a few days, or if my time, if not money, is being well spent.

I will say that I just ordered three other books from Amazon, and with this one on jQuery I feel like a kid at holiday time, playing with new toys and eating up the tasty goodness:
    - Pro JavaScript Techniques: Resig
    - JavaScript: The good parts: Crockford
    - High Performance JavaScript: Zakas

@captainstarbuck: we have free samples of all our books available, usually 2-4 chapters that you can get as a pdf to help you decide if it's right for you.

One question - where can I go to see working examples of the code that is taught in the book?

I didn't want to download it to my phone, so I guess I don't get the pdf.

I went to the web page from my phone, got the link sent to my email, but wanted to wait to download the pdf until I was at my computer. Evidently the download was cut of on or before midnight Jul 13 eastern time.

As my home connection is so slow I thought I would download it at work today but it seems that I am out of the 24hr period even though I regestered within the 24hrs.

Doh! I registered yesterday morning but didn't get the email with the link. I've just downloaded the code library for the book so the system does recognise my email address as an owner of the book.

Is there anything I can do to get a free copy now that the promotion has passed?

The annoying thing is, I posted the offer on another forum and they all got the email and the book. Bloody typical

I downloaded the book and I am loving it. Very well written. One question though, I noticed in the zip file theres is no Source code or Images for the examples. Was that something included that am I missing. If not, is there a way to get it?
