Opinions on this rep system please!

Hi, I have a business that sells room decor like posters predominantly to the college student market. I have been trying to come up with a rep system that would allow me to have students at college campuses post fliers about my online store at their campuses. Here's how it would work:

First I hire a "head rep" from each school I want a presence at. He is free to hire other reps to work under him, and he specifies their "cuts" out of his 10% portion. I add a "How did you hear about our site?" drop-down select input at the checkout of my site. One of the options would be "Flyer". Every time a purchase is made with the Flyer option selected, I would check to which city it is being shipped to, and the head rep closest to the shipping address gets the credit for the sale and 10% of the order's total. He is responsible for the cost of all materials himself.

This system isn't perfect, but VERY easy to implement. What do you think?

You could also include a tracking id for each majob university

if you think it'd be too complicated to do

then why not buy a domain for each major university? They are cheap enough. That way you know who to credit via which domain they visit.

That could be interesting....

Would you think people would bother to type the entire thing in?

instead of:

www.mysite.com

Maybe they would be hoping for some school-specific customizations? I could add such customization very easily.

yup... and if they don't type the whole thing in, less money you have to pay out.
