    #include virtual ???

    Hello,
    I was using <!--#include virtual="banner_news.txt" --> on my PC, to insert a banner to all of my pages (insted of pasting the same banner code to all pages) and it worked fine, i saw teh banner.

    But when I uploade it to my site, http://acewebnet.com/news/index.htm , thr <!--#include virtual="banner_news.txt" --> does not bring the banner
    if I will type http://acewebnet.com/news/banner_news.txt I do see it.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Does your server have server-side includes enabled?

    Aye it looks like its not even being parsed which would mean your host probably doesnt allow SSI.

    I looked at my hosts FAQ, and it says that I can use SSI, they gave me the example too. Could it be that I am doing something wrong?

    as an interim fix, what about just doing a <!--#include file="banner_news.txt"--> instead of a virtual include?

    Ok, i figured it.

    Inorder to make an SSI work, the file extention has to be chnaged from .htm to .shtml

    RE:

    you arent doing anything wrong, i think.

    The way i am seeing it is this, the new host you uploaded to doesnt support SSI, which allows the <!--#include virtual=""-->, or that the files you are trying to use the "Include" in dont have a ".shtml" extension.

    Hope this helps,

    Brandon
