    Where can I find well-designed forms?

    I have realized something today. I am terrible at making forms. Do you guys have any links to sites that have well-designed forms? Preferably with additional stuff, like explanatory text and pictures.

    I suck at design, but I've been reading up a bit on form usability recently and if you combine good form markup with CSS you can do some pretty spinkee things. Of particular interest are <fieldset>, <legend> and <label>. Fieldset can be used to group related form elements and when combined with a legend looks quite pretty. Labels can be specified for form tags, and a bit of CSS can line them up, colour them in and generally do fun stuff. The accesibility of a form is hugely improved by using these tags and I think they look nice as well.

    Example: http://www.r2communications.com/cssTests/form_final.htm

    I used these techniques for the Smarty wiki edit form: http://smarty.incutio.com/?action=edit&page=SandBox

    I really like this technique. The markup is logical and the form labels line themselves up for you

    Luckily there's a very simple solution - hide the CSS from NS4 using the @import() rule (or one of the other CSS hiding techniques) and NS4 will render the form without any styles at all - normal, boring times new roman. It won't be very attractive but it will work fine without any weird CSS incurred glitches. I've been using this technique to deal with NS4 for a month or so now and it's reduced my web designing headaches by a huge amount

    And here's a great technique that you may not be aware of.

    You can hide individual elements within a main style sheet from Netscape 4 by doing this:

    td{
    font-size-small;
    /*/*/
    font-sizex-small;
    /**/
    color:blue;
    }

    The first comment with the '/' in between is misinterpreted by N4, and it things the comment is till open. N4 ignores the following declarations, and only switches back on once you place another /**/

    It works like a dream!

    Hitler substituted "you" with "u" when he wrote. You are not Hitler, are you?

    I don't know what the u-word is. If it's rude, you can always tell me by private message
