    Prevent ._ Files from OSX

    Hi.

    Is there a free way to prevent those irritating ._ files being generated by OSX?

    They are essentially doubles of the files that are already there, and do nothing but take up space on my flashdrive and memory cards.

    I've been doing some googling and found software called Blue Harvest that does it, but it'd cost me $120 TT which I'd prefer not spend.

    Are there any commands I can enter into Terminal to accomplish the same?

    Incidentally, I found a command to prevent the .DS_Store files;

    defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores true

    Thanks, but it didn't work.

    They are hidden files, I guess some kind of meta data that OSX uses, so not actually a duplicate. It's no problem when I'm on my Mac; The files remain hidden there in the background, no big deal.

    The problem comes when I have folders going back and forth between my Mac and my PC.

    When I do, I see this;
