    What search engine gives you the most hits?

    Hi, I was just interested in peoples experiences with search engines. Please list what search engine gives you the most hits, how many hits per day, and your site.

    I own a video game Site called Gamersadvantage.com. I submitted it to several hundred search engines. I paid to have it included in Intomi and Teoma. Overal though, Google gives me the most hits at about 20 per day. Ask.com (teoma give me about 15 a day)

    google.com, ask.com, about.com, overture.com, yahoo.com, msn

    Those are the ones that give me the most hits.

    google = 200 visitors per day
    ask.com = 100 visitors per day
    about.com = 20 visitors per day
    overture.com = 100 visitors per day
    yahoo = 45 visitors per day

    Those are just the BIG engines I am listed in. It is all about the ranking

    Google, always and forever . I think I'm listed in DMOZ, Yahoo! and Excite, but these aren't as important to me as Google.

    I think you have to pay for listings. I did but I know that I do because I am a commercial site.

    Excite is a meta search engine.

    AOL uses Inktomi, by the end of the summer they will use Google though.

    AskJeeves/Teoma requires payment to submit, you can get listed without submitting though.

    I'm listed under MSN, Aol, Etc (Intomi) because I paid the $25 per year at ineedhits.com

    I'm also listed at ask.com (Teoma) because I paid for it.

    I'm in google because I submitted. I'm in MSN cause I got a free listing through zeal. I'm Toema cause I think they spidered my page from some directory. I'm in most other search engines cause I got an early free listing in inkotmi.

    Is it worth sumbmitting to the lower end engines? Does anyone actually get more then 1 hit per day from some of the lesser known search engines?

    I submitted to over 200 of them, I get like 3 hits a total from all of them together, so no, don't waste your time.

    It depends on what you mean by the lower ones... I get traffic daily from AskJeeves, Mamma, Dogpile and Lycos, not much but a couple hundred uniques a month between the 3. Definitely worth the 10 minutes to submit.
