    newsletter text adverts

Whats the standard newsletter text advert?

I was considering having 2 x advertisers in an ezine at most.

Is there a standard character or line amount that most people stick to?

The standards I've seen are 5 or 6 lines by 65 characters. Sometimes this doesn't include the URL, sometimes it does.

Mine are five-lines -- this seems about right.

    Ours is:
4-5 lines, 50 characters per line

I would run no more the 3 ads per newsletter, I have seen people run over 30 and I can only think no one would read them.

The standard seems to be 65 characters wide, but I've seen advertisements of any number of lines from 1 to 6, and sometimes (but rarely) more than eight. 6 seems to be common.

If you're going for 6 lines, consider whitespace ie having a blank line between your heading and the rest. I don't knwo why I said that, I just thought I'd like to know how well it does!

I think I will go for 65/6 lines or here and there abouts

I guess I can let it go a touch over, as long as it does not look to big in the letter
