To conclude the help I need on anchors, does anyone know how to link directly into a textbox from another page without using javascript?
Also, I still cant seem to get anchors to work with pictures, or can anchors only work with text. I am working with dw3, and am changing the code and testing results. I cannot seem to make an anchor a picture, nor can I put an anchor "in" a textbox. I have had great replies about anchors so far, but I hadnt explained I am working within layers. Where exactly would I put an anchor that is within a layer? Where would I put an anchor within a textbox to get it to link "into" the textbox?

As far as I know (Perhaps someone else knows otherwise), there really isn't a way to link directly INTO a text box, but by using internal anchors you can create a link that will take you directly to it.

Instead of a external anchor, you must use an internal anchor. This is how it works:

Instead of <a HREF="index.html"> you use the following code: <a NAME="Textbox">*Put Text Box Code Here*</a> Note that instead of HREF this code snippet uses NAME.

This creates an internal link which can be linked to on the same page, or from a different page. Here is how you link back to an internal link: <a href="index.html#Textbox"></a> You simply add a POUND symbol and then the NAME of the Internal link to the normal page link.

As for your graphic links not working, make sure that you are surrounding the image code with the anchor code like the following:

    <a href="index.html"><img src="home.gif" width="100" height="50" border="0" alt="Return Home"></a>

That is the HTML side of things!

    Hope this helps!

    hey Isaiah-
I got it working very well!
cant put it in the text box, but I knew it was something rinky dink. Dreamweaver 3 uses "layers" which are default anchored to the top of the page. *NOTE TO ALL, YOU MUST MOVE THOSE ANCHORS to the spot where your layer is, otherwise, your links will go directly to the top of the page. This was quite a long learning experience, I will never forget anchors :0)
