If it was up to me, I'd choose the dot-com. It seems like you would run into less problems by using a more mainstream and common domain extension. Not to mention, people remember dot-coms easier than dot-biz, it just seems more standard. Just my two cents.

Listings? As in search engines and directories? Your domain extension doesn't matter for those, only PR and a couple other important factors. For more information about getting good listings, check out our Search Engine forum.

But, definitely pick up the .com when it's available. Marc already listed a couple good reasons why.

The .com domain for sure !

Easy to remember and it will be picked up easier by the search engines. Just try to find a top result with a .biz domain...

Talking Thanks on the .com and .biz

Thanks For you Ideas and thoughts on this ... I have all the combinations on the clients URLs under the sun - but he realy wants to be found as a dot biz.

I feel the same as you all. It works if you type the .com points directly to the .biz

    Cheers Zip...

Dot com for sure. I've read a few articles that show .com usually gets the best ranking. Plus what do most people think of when talking websites, dot com.

Maybe if it's possible to get the .com and .biz fo the domain? Make the client happy and be able to use the .com for ranking, traffic, ect? Just run them all to the same pages.

It's always a good idea to get all or most of the extensions for any domain, if possible.
