Both are great, however I would suggest you using wordpress for the easiness of use, multitude of templates available for free, zillions of plugins and so on.

Wordpress is also much better seo friendly if you compare with blogspot.

It depends entirely on your needs, if you want something with zero effort either in setting up or learning, Blogger makes a good choice. If you want something extensible or usable in your own custom website, then Wordpress is the one to go with.

Alex hit it on the nail. Blogspot is very straightforward and easy to use. If you're looking for more customization and widgets, then wordpress should be considered. The Wordpress software does support the function of importing a blogspot blog, if you ever wanted to switch.

Both have hosted versions that are free to sign up for - why not create an account at both services and try them out?

You should use wordpress because there's so much you can do with it. You have so much control of your blog if you are going to use wordpress especially if you are planning to host your blog.

If you are serious about blogging then Wordpress is the option.

Recently Google has started deleting blog Which they think SPAM. First I though they are deleting simply spam blogs but now I have doubts.

I have more than 20 Blogger blogs and they deleted one which had original content about cameras. I hadn't even SEO this one.

If you use blogger always take a backup of content so if something happen you can at least try to move it to WP.

bluearrow: If Google banned you for spamming, I'm inclined to believe they had good reason to-do so, they don't usually ban accounts without genuine cause.

    I'm all about wordpress.

Have you heard about how Google (Blogger) deleted a bunch of people's blogs without warning?

""musicblogocide 2010", Google has deleted at least six popular music blogs that it claims violated copyright law. These sites, hosted by Google's Blogger and Blogspot services, received notices only after their sites – and years of archives – were wiped from the internet."

pull the trigger, ask questions later...? I dont want to support any corporation, service or website that has such a lack of respect for its users.

I have used blogspot for few weeks when I wasn't too sure I'd like to blog or what to use. I wasn't too pleased with it, especially since I like running my shows and not use a free hosted application. So I installed a wordpress script on my hosting and never looked back. Since i have used it for more than 3 years, wordpress is always my choice.

Both are equally well. According to word-press is more professional than blogspot & for newbie blogspot is the right choice.

If you consider form SEO point of view both are equally well.

There is seriously no contest between the two...if you want your own domain name its easier and much better to do it with Wordpress...Wordpress is completely customizable and offers several different options. You can have a blog, a directory, an online store, and a forum all in one website. All compatible with wordpress...trust me dude... WORDPRESS IS THE WAY TO GO

Wordpress whether you are newbie or advance blogger.

The only thing that will make you pick Blogger is because you can put Adsense in your blog unlike in free Wordpress.

Wordpress is literally the best platform to go with. Dont' get me wrong, supporting google and blogger is great but it the wordpress structure is made for search engines.

I choose wordpress over blogspot as it comes with many plugins and themes that I can use.

Other than that, I have the freedom of hosting on my own site and not worrying that it can be taken off. Best of all, it can customize the look and feel to become e-commerce site.
