I'm trying to snazz up a page and need to figure out what to use. I want an image to load in a table cell on the left and menu items to load on the right cell, and as a visitor moves thier mouse over the menu items, the image loaded on the left changes to explain the menu item that the mouse is pointing to. I can either do the explanation in text or I can do another image. There doesn't need to be a link from the image that changes.
Well First to answer the question in your topic... DHTML is just a combination of javascript, HTML and CSS. So yes your solution will require javascript to achieve the DHTML results your looking for.
For the exact look you want you can go to www.dynamicdrive.com and look in their Menus and Navigation section for some cut and paste scripts.
