    What's the best banner exchange??

Anyone can tell me where I should look for the best banner exchange sites?

I'm using free-banners at the moment but it really suck. I get 2 click per 1000 impressions because most of their members put their banners at the bottom of their pages so no one see them...

Anyone can help me to find anything better? I beleive it's not too hard

    Thanks a lot

I used to like Linkbuddies for their 3:2 but seems like they are not so prominent anymore .. their Alexa ranking has slipped alot too

I haven't found any banner exchanges that are worth it nowadays yet ...

Actually I found linkexchange to be the best one after all this time. You get 1 impression for every two shown but They do get you new traffic. I tried other exchange sites that gave you better ratio but it didn't pull as many new visitors than linkexchange.

borrowing the money you put into the purchasing of the impressinos, do you feel the traffic reciprocated marginal profits or visitors (if you are non-profit)?

Thats because people click on banners alot more than buttons.

    Question about banner exchanges....

I have seen and heard of people making a page called index.html (but there real index site is index.php3 or something) and having tons of banners on them. Then they would fake banner impressions by auto refreshing the page (or another way).

I'm sure programs these days are smart enough to know what people are trying to scam the system. Is this the case? This in a main reason I never got involved in banner exchanges, mainly because I figured no one was actually seeing your banner.

I'm not convinced there is such a thing as "best banner exchange" All results are very poor, with return rates of 1% approx they are hardly worth it.

Ok, Banner exchange programs give very pure results nowadays. Well below %0.5. So what new advertisement methods we can use as an alternative to have better performance?

If you don't mind low click thrus and have tons of pageviews, banner exchanges can still send in modest traffic.

Example if you got 10 million pageviews monthly earning you 5 million impressions. A 0.15% response will generate 7,500 additional visitors.

    Looking from reverse angle

Working on the same theoretical figures. Except looking on the effect on your website traffic.

Assuming 10 million page views with same 0.15 hit rates would you not lose 15000 pairs of eyeballs?

You are at a massive net loss of traffic. Are you not?

Banner exchanges invite your traffic to leave your site.

Instead of joining a banner exchange, I would recommend you contact a few sites that share your content category and offer a link exchange with them. This way you know where your link is displayed, you can bring in targeted traffic and you can also improve search rank.

Overall, the performance of a banner exchange doesn't warrant the time it takes to sign up for them.

Try using a targetted exit exchange. I signed up for w3exit through this forum and like it because it fitted my site well, it wasn't some 'general interest' exchange.

    Hope that helps

Pop ups just generally annoy people, targeted text exchanges are better.

Just for the record, w3exit serves popunders on exit - 1 per unique visitor - not popups. We believe in being surfer friendly.

w3exit.com seems good but i dunno. I was with extremetraffic.net and didn't do so well with them. Now i'm with TrafficSwarm and i'm not sure how its going to go but I showed about 9,000 pop-ups and my traffic didn't increase very much if at all. Do you think W3Exit.Com will work good with my site, PlayazPage.Com?

In my humble opinion, banner exchanges aren't worth the while especially when we are talking about banner networks. First of all, the problem with these networks is that most of them have poor member websites.
Your banner arrives on a personal home page...that's not going to help you a lot.

Secondly, targeting can be problematic as well. Some networks allow you to choose the type of sites you want to see your banner on but still a lot of them just don't care.

Third reason is that certain banner networks put ads on your site that aren't appropriate for your site. The networks sell ads and just want to be able to offer as many impressions as possible. If the advertiser hasn't heard of targeting yet then he'll be pretty dissapointed if he hears the results.

Anyway, I recall a client who ordered our web site report. You know what I had to write in that report? 'Your web site has a porn banner on it's main page. Considering that your site is related to a video games and a lot of children visit your web site we advise you to leave the banner exchange program...'

I'm sure not every banner exchange network is tht bad but nevertheless I always advise them to stop offering these impressions. The only banner exchange I would consider advising is the one with a site you contacted, is targeted to your audience and offers you a 1:1 ratio.

    Any comments or experiences welcomed

    Arrow .....

Agree with Bruno Delepierre on most of that.
Incase you are with a good Banner Network (advertwizard for ex) who will not let a porn banner slip in, & you have high traffic, the impressions can be very easily used for increase in Brandawareness and also a nice 100-500 extra visitors per day !

I feel however, the category of sites that can profit (trafficwise) from this is very minimal, beacuse of the variables involved...

I'm afraid not. We only accept web development related sites. I guess you can try out some other exit exchanges before deciding on one. There are quite a number out there. See http://www.internetmarketingfocus.co...=exit+exchange for a list.

But be sure to join one with sound technology. Some are easy to cheat (by members) ... resulting in useless (fake) traffic for everyone - unfortunately.
