    <TBODY> is a Table Body.
This element is used to group the rows within the body of a table so that common alignment and style defaults can be set easily for numerous cells. Hope this has helped.

Its also in the HTML 4.0 and 4.1 specifications and not supported by Netscape Navigator. In fact if you use TBODY along with THEAD and TFOOT in navigator your table will have a large empty space at the top and the user will have to scroll down two or three times before they actually see content.
