I am on my way to getting the draft of a site I have been working on up and running. However, I have noticed that three images on my pages failed to show in my browser (red cross appears). I have checked and rechecked to virtual src but the error continues. Is this problem specific to my browser or is it server related?
Its got me stumped because when you load the image (ie. putting it in the querystring) the image loads and you can go back to the page with the image showing.
Try changing your IMG SRC from "/swirl/images/banner_01_01.gif" to
"images/banner_01_01.gif". It looks like your already under "/swirl", so you don't need to specify that to get it to load.

I really needed to make the src virtual being I am using the images in an include file throughout my site. Are you saying that src virtual paths do not work for images? If you test the path in the querystring the image works - I need a better solution to this?
This still has me stumped - I recently reinstalled Windows 98 and MIE5 only to find the same problem. My employer also has the same problem. However, all of the images on the web page function normally with Netscape. Also, when I changed the number of colours in the images to 256 (in PSP) they functioned properly but if I change the number of colours back to 16 they do not. Is there a colour preference for Internet Explorer or is this some kind of bug. Please go to: http://www.domaindlx.com/swirl/client/entry/test.asp
