    Hi,

I want to be able to specify that one image always loads first, to give visitors something interesting to look at while the rest of the page loads.

    How ? Help !

    Thanks

    Graham

Usually the page is loaded in the order its received by the user agent. So if the picture is listed first it will load first. You can force the loading order of pictures by using javascript to load all your images in the onload event of the document. There are tons of preloading scripts available for use on the internet.

You might be better off in giving the users content to read instead of a picture to look at while your site is downloading. This will keep their attention better than a graphic. Up to date news about your site or the latest offerings are good choices because it changes often (or should).
