link search in Google not working
I optimized www.taospremierproperties.com last month and used WebPosition Pro's Page Critic. After last weeks Google update, Google did not update my newest title/description and when searching for links (link:taospremierproperties.com), no links show up. Did I get penalized for something? Anyone know why no links are showing up?

It will take atleast 3 weeks for the information from last weeks crawl to show up.
This most recent Google update was from a crawl at the beginning of June.Chris Beasley - I publish content and ecommerce sites.

so I won't be able to see who is linking to my site with Google until 3 weeks? I see links to other sites that I maintain with Google, I am afraid that I got penalized for some reason.

Nezi wrote me an email, I'm going to post my reply here as well so everyone is on the same page:
A crawl is when a search engine sends it's spiders out to index the
Internet.
An update is when a search engine updates the database it uses to get search
results from.
Some search engines update immediately after a crawl, Google, because of
their need to process the link popularity of all the pages, takes about 3-4
weeks. So 3 weeks after a crawl they will update. They tend to update at
the end of the month and crawl at the beginning of the month.
You know when they are crawling by monitoring your logs for visits from
"Googlebot"
-----------------
As for links not showing up, we'll need more information to troubleshoot that problem. What is your URL? How many links did you have showing up before? What exactly did you do this time around (your optimization)?Chris Beasley - I publish content and ecommerce sites.

http://taospremierproperties.com is the url.
I am trying to optimize for"
1. Taos Real Estate
2. Taos Homes
3. Taos Land.
I did the following:
1. Changed title to: "Taos Real Esate, Taos Land and Taos Homes"
2. Changed description to:"Taos Real Estate listings by Taos Premier Properties. Offering personalized, professional attention in helping you find Taos real estate, Taos property, Taos homes and Taos land for sale in and around Taos, New Mexico"
3. Added "Taos Real Estate" link text and alt tags throughout body text and increased keyword density and keyword prominence.
I checked it out with WebPosition Pro Page Critic and everything checked out fine.
Suggestions...

And how many links was it showing previously?
You need to understand that Google has 2 indexes, one is public and contains only the most important sites. The other is comprehensive.
Now when doing it's link popularity calculations Google takes into account all links in it's comprehensive database.
When doing the backwards link searches Google only lists links from pages in it's public database. Therefor while you do have incoming links they are not always visible.
Thats actually just a theory of mine, I know Google has this behavior, and my theory explains it, but if Google simply didn't display links that didn't give enough weigh, it would also explain. So while Google may list a page with 100 links on it, it would display those links in any backward links search because each link gives a relatively small boost. Either way pages with low PageRanks tend to not show up in backward links searches.
Now you only have a PageRank of 3, which is very low. This tells me you have relatively few incoming links or only links from pages with even lower ranks, therefor it makes sense that your links would not be showing up.Chris Beasley - I publish content and ecommerce sites.

I believe there were only 2 links listed with Google before. Since my optimization I did increase ranking from #28 to #13. I will be focusing my efforts on link popularity this month.
Thanks for all the juicy info. It helps tremendously!
