Why the float error and misalignment of image in IE6/IE7?

Could you possibly tell us what the problem was? I didn't get long to debug this at all (my computer is so slow it took several minutes to reload the page in IE7 since I have so many tabs open in Chrome about something) but I am curious to know what the solution was
