    Overture vs Google Ad Words

Now that Google has a pay per click version of their ad words would you recommend using them over Overture? Overture can REALLY get expensive with the bidding wars. Does anyone have any experience with both ? Which showed better results in terms of leads/sales?

    Thanks in advance

You're right, Overture can become very expensive without you even realizing it. Although you can set a spending limit with Google Adwords Select, many of their premium keywords have some extremely high minimum bids. You may luck up and find some good ones that don't, though. I try to stay out of the ppc frenzie, but I have achieved fair results with FindWhat. They're nothing compared to Overture, but it's still targeted and you won't end up paying more than you anticipated.

Don't adwords usually go for 15 cents a click? I wouldn't pay any more than that. I agree that you should stay out of the PPC frenzy, overture can get extremely expensive if your not careful.

Unless your bid achieves a positive ROI .. don't go for super high bids .. track all bids with cookies to see how they perform.

1000s of clicks for 5 cents on adwords

I get the majority of my visitors for different web sites from Google Adwords, and I rarely pay more than 5 cents. The secret is to have hundreds of keywords. In total I have more than 4000 keywords. This includes things like mispelt words, and combinations of words. For example, the minimum bid on Google for "wine shop" is 57 cents and the minimum bid for "buy wine" is 35 cents.

Instead, have a look at these combination of keywords:

    wine sales
    wine stores
    wine sale
    purchase wine
    discount wine
    wine price
    wine cheap
    wine shops
    order wine
    wine on line
    wine prices
    wine club
    wine cheapest

All of these are available at 5 cents each.

    hope that helps
