I left out intentional ones like Yahoo, since their results are powered by Google. If there are any above that are powered by some other search engine (AOL? MSN?), let me know.. these things tend to change all too quickly! Also feel free to add to the list!
You forgot that Yahoo has it's own directory which is served before google powered results. So submitting to yahoo is well worth it as it's one of the most popular ones.
Lycos uses AllTheWeb(FAST)
HotBot uses inktomi
MSN uses inktomi and looksmart
DogPile is a meta search engine
Excite is a meta search engine
If you want a list of places to submit there is a list in the important thread at the top of this forum. Basically there are only 4 major search engines left.
Google
AltaVista
Fast
Inktomi
There are also two up-and-comers
WiseNut (owned by LookSmart)
Teoma (owned by Ask)
Neither of which are accepting submissions at this point.
The only other things you need to submit to are directories, the reason is that each directory listing helps with link popularity. So no matter how small it is you should submit.
For search engines, basically getting listed in Yahoo or DMOZ will get you in any smaller search engine.
There are of course other search engines, but 99% of traffic will originate from those 4, LookSmart, DMOZ, or Yahoo
