Question I don't want to offend anyone, please Help

    Hello all,

I'm frustrated and am turning to all you lovely people in the hope of some help.... [enough buttering up? ]

I'm not sure I should say this, from what I can see it's a but of a dirty word but COREL...

I'm just trying to do graphic design for my first fully functioning php/mySQL website and my head has started REALLY hurting from all the banging against the wall I've been doing.

    Does anyone want to:
    A) Do all my graphic design for me

    or

    B) know of any good resources to help an egit like me desing a logo and come up with a few occasional graphics a simple site?

    --
Thanks in advance and please don't hate me for using COREL....

    Smile I'm not alone

Wow, I can't believe I'm not the only Corel user on this forum.

I use Corel Photo Paint 9. It's a great program. I like it much better than Paint Shop Pro which I have at work.

    experience, I guess

I guess it depends a lot on what program you have more experience with. I have more Corel experience so it's
frustrating when I can't do the same thing in PSP.

You'll laugh even louder when I tell you that where I work the whole office uses the Corel office suite, but for some reason
neither Photo Paint or Draw is included.

Thumbs up so much love..... are you hippies?

    Thanks guys,

    Platinum, I'm running CorelDraw and Photo-Paint 10.

I didn't really want to get into the ins and outs of what software is best and why..... I have been reading all the posts and there is thread somewhere about what is good and not, suffice to say, I got corel for free! and don't have the funds for Paintshop Pro never mind anything else.

unfortunately the only thing I could offer in the trading post would be my deepest thanks!

Thomas: do you have/use CorelDraw as well, I find there seems to be some wierd greyt areas in what paint/draw are supposed to do, I often end up making graphics in Draw and just exporting in a bitmap format.....?

I have Corel Draw 7 but I never use it. I mainly use Photo Paint 9 with KPT5, Eye Candy and Flaming Pear plugins.

I'm not sure what you mean about wierd grey areas.

By the way, why don't you also check out some of the Freeware paint programs like Gimp?

    cheers dude,

by grey areas I didn't mean literally bits of grey, I find things like text editing and formatting things and stuff is much more powerful in Draw, paint has the same functions but they seem less accessible.

Paint has of course got the effects and everything....

s'pose it must just be me....
